John James Audubon (April 26, 1785 – January 27, 1851) was a Franco-American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter. He painted, catalogued, and described the birds of North America.
The Garland Parks and Recreation Department oversees more than 2,865 acres of land containing 68 parks site, a preserve (sanctuaries for native plants, native animals and unique natural features), and 3 greenbelts (parkland on creeks).
Park Maintenance provides landscape management and litter control for over 600 acres of street medians and other right-of-way areas along major thoroughfares. They also provide grounds maintenance at municipal facilities such as City Hall, the libraries, the Granville Arts Center and the downtown plaza. The PARD South District crew takes care of Audubon Park.
